A Fox Named Schnitzel
Translated from Latin American Spanish by Bettina Obrecht
Book design: Claudia Eder
Schnitzel is an unusual fox. Instead of hunting rabbits, he likes to eat crunchy watermelons. But what he really longs for is friends and community. When Schnitzel hears that in Vegetarian Valley, they have the best parties, he knows that’s where he’s heading! But how can he convince the rabbits, chickens and mice there not to be scared of him? He needs a plan. After he tries unsuccessfully a few times, he finally has the perfect idea. Confindently, he makes his way to the party…where a huge surprise awaits him.
Sol Undurraga has created a warmhearted story about a lovable fox in search of belonging. Vibrant colors, hilarious party guests, and a fine sense of humor create plenty of opportunities to laugh and explore.
Sol Undurraga: »I work both on paper and digitally but when I created Schnitzel, I used coloured pencils because it brought me closer to the protagonist: a little fox you simply want to cuddle because he’s so gentle.«
