Bettina Obrecht has studied Spanish and English in San José/Costa Rica, La Laguna/Spain and Heidelberg. She is a German writer of children’s literature, poetry, radio plays and features as well as song lyrics . She also works as a literary translator (English, Spanish, French). She has published more than 60 books that have been translated into more than a dozen languages.
In addition, she has collaborated in/organized many interdisciplinary and international art events and projects such as “Hidden Stage” festival of sound art. She is a member of PEN Zentrum Germany and has received various grants and awards or her literary work.
