Ayesha could paint gorgeous pictures telling stories of love, friendship, and the beauty of the world. It was a good life. But one day, the war came to the city.

A story about the power of art to provide a sense of comfort, strength, and connection, even in the darkest of times.

Pauline Pete: »To emphasize the delicacy of the issue, I use delicate structures, gentle colors, and atmospherically charged light throughout the book. I intentionally worked with elements of darkness to depict threatening scenes. For these illustrations, I used different materials including pencil, gouache, colored pens, ballpoint pens, and ink. Through this great variety I want to underline the important message of creativity.«
