Serge Bloch was born in Colmar in 1956 and began publishing books for children and young adults after graduating from the École supérieure des arts décoratifs in Strasbourg.
He also does illustrations for magazines and newspapers including The New York Times, Le Monde and the Süddeutsche Zeitung, and has won has won several international prizes. Nowadays, he divides his time between Paris and New York.
