Mareike Engelke was born in the Lower Rhine region in 1979. She studied Communications Design in Essen and Krefeld and took her diploma specializing in picture books.
In her studio in Duisburg, with a view of a blue crane, she works as a freelance illustrator for magazines and publishing houses. Not to mention her enjoyment of all nonsense and fun, and she is fond of being a gardener’s grandchild, a cat’s mom, and a favorite auntie.
She lives with her husband in Duisburg.
