Louise Heymans was born in Cologne in 1984 and studied illustration in Hamburg and Macerata (Italy). In her studio in Hamburg she creates atmospheric pictorial worlds for children and adults that are rich in detail. She dreams up stories and designs graphic series, picture books and art books.
Her illustrations have been presented in exhibitions in Germany and other countries, and she won the Hans Meid Foundation’s emerging talent award and an award at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. She currently teaches printed art and graphics at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
