Carla Haslbauer was born in 1994 in Frankfurt am Main. Today, she works as a freelance illustrator and author in Basel. After graduating from Lucerne University of Applied Science and Arts in Illustration Fiction her first picture books got a lot of attention, and she won the Serafina illustration award. Apart from writing and illustrating picture books, she also works on small comic projects and enjoys reading her books in front of an audience. She draws inspiration from her love for fish, daily life, and childhood memories.
