The house with the many windows is an old people’s home with lots of floors and rooms. Behind every window lives a person with his or her very particular story. All these people are very different and so are the stories they recall as they approach the end of their lives. Their memories may be vague or crystal clear. There are memories of love, moments of fun and things that made them proud, as well as memories of grief and loss and misfortunes. What they all have in common, though, is that these stories of life have outlived the actual events.

People told Charlotte Müller these stories when she worked as a carer in an old people’s home. Now she has committed them to paper with illustrations so that the stories will not fade into obscurity after the teller has died.
