Eleanor Sommer studied illustration at the Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften (applied sciences) in her hometown of Hamburg. She has illustrated a number of books and games for various publishing houses and is also a member of an illustrators’ collective,“Die Krickelkrakels” (the scribblers). Her illustrations have been selected to participate in the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition, where she won the Carl Buch Preis for the boldest children’s book cover. She has previously designed a book for kunstanstifter, Winter Fun in Slapsefjell. Eleanor Sommer lives near the quayside in Hamburg with her family, and is part of a group studio a few doors away, together with other illustrators.
